About Motocara

Great mechanics deserve to be believed.

A mechanic explaining a repair to a customer over an open bonnet

Motocara started in Brisbane, with a founder who kept living the same story every car owner knows. A part gets replaced, a bill gets handed over, and you drive away with no real idea what was actually done, whether it needed doing, or whether the price was fair. Different cars, different workshops, same feeling.

Here is the unfair part: most of those mechanics probably did honest work. But when the customer cannot see the worn part, the torn belt or the leak, honest work and invisible work look exactly the same. That gap is where doubt lives, and it quietly damages the reputation of a whole trade.

Motocara exists to close that gap. Photos from the hoist, the mechanic's own words turned into plain English, the cost in writing, all locked into a tamper-proof report the customer keeps forever. The mechanic gets believed. The customer gets certainty. Everybody wins.

The trust problem is real

Least trusted

Survey after survey puts car servicing and repairs among the least trusted industries in Australia. Not because most mechanics do bad work, but because customers cannot see the work at all.

Top complaints

Motor vehicle sales and repairs sit near the top of complaint categories at state consumer affairs bodies year after year. Most disputes come down to the same thing: no shared record of what was found, done and charged.

Tens of thousands short

Industry bodies estimate Australia is short tens of thousands of qualified technicians. The good workshops that remain are flat out, and the ones that show their work are the ones that keep customers for life.
